    POLYMER CHEMIST - 1 YEAR CONTRACT

    We are seeking a Polymer Chemist with experience in synthesizing polymers and formulating polymer composites. You will join a world-class team of scientists and engineers and have access to state-of-the-art materials and infrastructure. Your challenge is to support new materials innovation as part of our internal research program and our contract research activities with external customers.  

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Design, synthesis, and characterization of polymers
    • Formulation of polymer blends, composites, and mixtures with specialty additives
    • Participate in aspects of complex problem solving and materials development
    • Develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the use of ingenuity, creativity, and sound business judgement
    • Analyze and present findings at meetings; assume responsibility for project documentation, including reports, invention disclosures, patent applications, journal articles, etc.
    • Translate new/existing scientific knowledge into enabling technologies; perform analytical and experimental work to solve business problems in a timely manner

    Education Requirements:

    • PhD Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or related field
    • New grad to 4 years’ experience

    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

    • Required experience in polymer design, preparation, and characterization
    • Required experience in formulation of polymer mixtures and polymer composites with additives
    • Experience in design of experiments considered an asset
    • High level of organization and motivation with the ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary cross-functional team
    • Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving
    • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Analytical and systematic in approaching scientific challenges
    • Demonstrated thought leadership
