    Job Description

    Kelly Services' global pharmaceutical client is seeking a Safety Specialist to join their Markham, Ontario location for a one year contract term starting June 15, 2020. Working within the Consumer & Personal Care division, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring regulatory requirements for single case reporting of adverse events are met. This involves working with assigned vendor resources, training and overseeing reporting of adverse events. This position will also provide back-up support to PV related responsibilities as required.     Major Responsibilities:
    • Manage vendor relationship pertaining to delegated responsibilities (adverse event assessment, reporting and monitoring).
    • Develop training materials for vendors, train vendor resources and provide on-going support.
    • Maintain oversight of delegated responsibilities, ensuring high level of compliance and quality is achieved.
    • Serve as main point of contact for electronic reporting of adverse events with Health Canada.

    • Performs other related duties as required.

    Job Knowledge Requirements:
    • Healthcare professional background with clinical experience, preference will be given to candidates who are authorized to practice in Canada.
    • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in adverse events case processing including medical evaluation.
    • Demonstrated supervisory experience of a team with 4 to 7 individuals or vendor operations is preferred.
    • Experience with consumer products such as non-prescription drugs, natural health products, medical devices, etc. is preferred.
    • Proficiency in Canadian regulations pertaining to pharmacovigilance is required.
    • Experience in PV audits and inspections is preferred.

    Core/Technical competency requirements:
    • Experience with consumer products such as non-prescription drugs, natural health products, medical devices etc. is preferred.
    • Proficient knowledge of medical terminology
    • Proficient skill level in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
    • Prioritization and organization of workflow activities in a team environment
    • General working knowledge of document management systems
    • Excellent communication and writing skills
    • Superior level of attention to detail
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to work independently and in a virtual team environment is critical
    • Ability to work within tight deadlines
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities
    • Bilingual (English and French) preferred

    Working Conditions:
    • Head office in Markham
    • No travel requirements

    Physical/Auditory & Visual Demands:
    May require occasional lifting of boxes containing paper files. No handling of controlled substances.
