    About the Role:

    Ensure the right execution of physical and chemical analysis for raw material, semi-finished and finished goods, in order to guarantee the technological quality and the marketability of Ferrero products.

    Main Responsibilities:

    Lab Management
    • Assures an effective management of laboratories within the plant according to Central Quality guidelines (reagents stock management, calibration of the tools, application of accident prevention regulations, application of the central methods reported on the portal,…)
    • Assures that relations between Production, Central Quality and Plant Quality Assurance are finalized to laboratory analysis execution.
    • Ensure introduction end developments of new methods and techniques and manages related investment order and new equipment implementation
    • Supervise and control lab. Budget

    Raw materials, semi-finished and finished products
    • Systematically analyzes inbound raw material, semi-finished and finished goods, providing warnings on anomalies, if necessary .
    • Assures the execution of appropriate laboratory analysis by taking into consideration materials and products to be analyzed.
    • Coordinates and manages sample collection and preparation (weighing and dilution), in accordance to the quality manual statements and to standard (defined at central level) (e.g. sampling plans arranged via SAP).
    • Follow sampling plans and the frequencies planned on SAP

    Results from analysis
    • Assures the execution of appropriate laboratory analysis by taking into consideration materials and products to be analyzed.
    • Guarantees the correct quality of the results (precision, accuracy) according to regulations and give evidence participating to Ring Test
    Consumables and equipment
    • Collects offers/donations given to purchase new laboratory instruments and materials.
    • Conduces purchasing related negotiations along with Technical Purchasing department.
    • Performs the purchase of new instruments according to corporate procedures.
    • Assures that laboratory instruments are all available and properly working.
    • Handles and manages instruments for laboratory analysis and analysis’ procedures.

    Human Resources
    • Provides technical support to different plant’s departments
    • Manages and develops potentials of subordinates in accordance to company principles. Assures, within the area, effectiveness in terms of structure organization and working shifts.
    • Supervises data analysis and interpretation, guaranteeing a proper result finding activity and related IT data entry.

    Housekeeping of the lab
    • Ensure that the lab is well maintained and clean

    Quality and Food Safety
    • Ensure all program requirements/standards regarding quality and food safety are implemented, practiced and maintained.


    Environmental & Energy
    • To assist in the implementation of and conformance to the Environmental & Energy Management Systems within key process areas.

    Who we are looking for:

    • Educational background in food science/biology/microbiology/chemistry or related field
    • Proven lab.
    • Management working experience
    • Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment (micro/chemistry or both)
    • Knowledge of Food Safety programs and GMP’s
    • Knowledge of lab routines
    • Knowledge of CFIA and FDA
    • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
    • Good level of communication
    • Knowledge of Ferrero’s products and Quality standards
    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines
    • Ability to conduct presentations and training sessions
    • Strong communication skills in a multi-cultural environment

    Salary: 70K to 75K pending qualifications
