    Law Clerk

    • Prepare for review pleadings, notices of motion, motion records, affidavits, settlement documentation and any other court forms for Superior Court and Small Claims Court
    • Draft enforcement procedures including garnishments, writs of seizure and sale, writs of possession and judgment debtor examinations for Superior and Small Claims Court
    • Prepare Affidavits of Documents
    • Manage eDiscovery process including document collection, first-pass review and document production
    • Review and summarize transcripts and complete undertaking, under advisements and refusal charts and assist with collection of answers
    • Prepare proofs of claim and examinations for appointment in bankruptcy
    • Draft motions materials for construction matters including but not limited to vacating/discharging liens, setting actions down for settlement meetings, setting actions down for trial and payments into and out of court
    • Produce cost outlines and bills of cost
    • Formulate trial preparation including Evidence Act notices, summons to witness and document briefs
    • Assist as needed with various tasks on Appeals and Arbitration


    • Qualifications and Skills Required:
    • Five years’ experience as a Litigation Law Clerk
    • Post-Secondary graduate of a Law Clerk Program
    • Member in good standing with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario
    • Thorough knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
    • Knowledge of the Construction Act
    • Some understanding of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act would be an asset
    • Strong technical skills using MS Office 2013
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
